Here is a sweet treat that is a delicious alternative to a fat filled dessert.

Fruit & Yogurt Layered Salad

Makes: 12 servings

Ingredients:

8 oz low-fat strawberry yogurt
3 oz light cream cheese
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp almond extract
3 c frozen light whipped topping, thawed
2 c diced red apples
1 can (15oz) mandarin orange segments, drained
3 ripe peaches, sliced
2 c seedless grapes
2 c diced pears
2 c sliced strawberries
1 kiwi fruit, peeled, halved & sliced
3 strawberries
1 c blueberries


Directions:

In a large bowl combine yogurt, cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and almond extract.   Beat until smooth.  Add whipped topping; beat until thick and smooth.

Layer fruit and topping in a deep glass bowl in this order: apples, oranges, 1/3 topping, peaches, grapes, 1/3 topping, pears, sliced strawberries, and 1/3 topping. 

Arrange kiwifruit slices around the top edge of bowl.  Quarter the three strawberries and arrange, flowerlike in the center.   Fill empty space with blueberries.
